INTRODUCTION
The first event in the Eurocup 2009 has gone, and it seems it has been a good start. The feeling is that everyone had a good time there. Thanks to the location, a nice track in the mountains, with snow still up there. Thanks to the races, 10 km and relay on Saturday, marathon on Sunday, on a very nice and fast track. Thanks to the cooks, that always do their best to make us get back energy after the races (and also before). Thanks to Elidio Viglio, great head of the Sport Group AVIS Ivrea. Thanks to all people who helped some way to make everything go well. But especially thanks to everyone who took part in this nice weekend, making it a wonderful one.
Over than 50 athletes came from all Europe to enjoy the event, some from France, first time in Eurocup, from Switzerland, from Germany, from the Netherlands, from Finland and from Czech Republic. New italian record, and probably in the world, in marathon race has been established. Electronic system has been used to timing the race.
This large numbers of athletes at the event is a positive sign that scooter sport is growing, and at the same time that the IKSA and GS AVIS IVREA associations are doing a good work. The sport group of AVIS IVREA, organizes scooter races and events to promote first of all the blood donation, and then the scooter sport. But this little group of friends and maniacs of the scooter, works seriously and well, and it is enthusiastic and honored to organize the next World Scooter Championship in Ivrea, Italy, in 2010.

STARS OF THE EVENT
Stars of the event are: the finnish man Kai Immonen winner of both individual races, and two young dutch sisters Rosanne e Maxime Reijne, 2 of the most stronger kickers in the world. Rosanne was 5° in the last looooong Elfstedentocht, her father Mario was the winner and, with the time in the marathon race, is candidated to the new world record in veteran class. Maxime, born in 1994, ran the marathon in 1h 45'38" it is not a world record??
The list of the stars continue with Igor Ricci, 2 second places and 1 first in the relay, best male athlet on all races of the event, who after last races, gains the 2nd place in the top world ranking.

SCOOTER, BCS EVO AND CARBON PG.
Many news about scooter models that we saw in races. Most important news are about the new BCS model called "EVO" with aluminium frame and best quality design. Incredible news is about the 2 carbon scooters made by PG, Peter Groeneveld, realized exclusively for and based on Rosanne's and Maxime's weight and height.
OFFICIAL TIME KEEPING
In the races, for the first time in Italy, time measurement was done by AMB-it.com (chip-x) chip timing system, coordinated by Thijza (NAF), that we would like to thank for her job, extraordinary as always. The system makes time keeping more professional and allows to have in real time all information about race and time of each athlete, quickly print results and classifications, so every one, people watchin the race too, can know exactly what's happening. With this system each athlete taking part at the race, can watch his results visiting a specific web page. Times taken by this system can be considered official, so we can start with the records measurement. Of course we’re going to use the system again in the next World Championship to timing official new "records" (we hope!!)

RESULTS
This year distances of races in Rapy have been modified and based exactly on IKSA rules: short race is exactly 10 km (last year was 9,6 km), and long distance is 42,195 km (was 42 km) exactly the marathon distance. So distances and time keeping are official and conform to IKSA rules, so race results might be candidate to estabilish new records.

10 KM RACE
Results of 10 km race
Kai Immonen from Finland doesn’t seem to have any problem in winning the race in 19’02”, before our best Italian Igor Ricci and a faster than expected - after his injury in last season - Dani Niederberger from Switzerland (welcome back!). Among the women, the Reijne girls dominate: first Rosanne, second Maxime, that is also first in cadets category. Behind them, Janine Knol, also from the Netherlands.

LONG RACE 42,195 KM
Results of 42,195 km race
On Sunday morning, up at 7, breakfast all together, then ready for the marathon.
This time we kick the track clockwise, so it seems to be less hard, and very fast anyway. Saturday night brandy cannot stop Kai Immonen, that ends first in 1h21’58”, time very close to the official world record estabilished by Alpo Kuusisto in 1999 with the time of 1.20.03, before Igor Ricci 1h 26'08" (new italian record) and Joachim Sternal 1h 28'27" from Germany. In women’s race, the Reijne sisters, Rosanne and Maxime are first, 1h 42'37" and candidated to the new official world record in senior class, and second again, in the time of 1h 45'38" candidated to the new official world record in cadet class, followed by Ivana Dvorakova 1h 53'09" from Czech Repulic, also first in the veterans’ classification. After two hours and a half, nearly everyone has finished the race, and congratulations also to young boys and girl who made a great job.
Some interviews for television, then in the dining room again. After lunch, prize-giving ceremony, then the worst part of the event: goodbye time. But everybody seems to be satisfied with the weekend, and that makes organizers happy. It’s always nice to work for wonderful people as all of our kick-friends are, each one his/her way.
In the races, for the first time we had the chip timing system, coordinated by Thijza, that we would like to thank for her job, extraordinary as always. So of course we’re going to use the system again in the next World Championship, to timing official new "record".
